Yesterday afternoon Jan and I took our 13 yr old grandson out fishing
around the marsh just South of our neighborhood and of course we took our
binoculars. We stopped several spots but at one in particular she told me to
stop and turn around as we were leaving. There is a private hunting club on an
Island in the marsh that has mostly newly planted trees due to Hurricane
Ike and there was a male Vermillion Flycatcher sitting on top of one. Just
thought it was an odd place for one. It is at least .5 miles to high ground
from there.

Just ordered a Sparrow trap because I just counted 53 House Sparrows around
our feeders. War has been officially declared. They have taken over our
Martin House and both Eastern Bluebird houses.
