Hi all - A quick note before I go away from home again. I was able to get out on Tuesday morning to Pollywog Ponds, Tule Lake, Joe Fulton Trade Corridor, and Hazel Bazemore County Park. The weather was nice, low winds, and you can tall it has rained at least a little bit lately - there were mosquitos out at Pollywog Ponds. New Patch birds were - Winter Wren at Pollywog Ponds. I got into a big flock of feeding Myrtle Warblers and was sure I'd get a different warbler than the Winter 3 (Myrtle, O-c, and ComYellowthroat), but no - only Orange-crowned and a Blue-headed Vireo amongst them. Immature Little Blue Heron at Tule Lake Black-crowned Night-heron (finally!), Snowy Plover, Sanderling along Joe Fulton Green Kingfisher (Finally x 2!!) at Hazel Bazemore Park. For the first time since November, I did not see or hear the Black Phoebe. Purple Martin, Chipping Sparrow, Broad-tailed Hummingbird in my yard. The hummer is a male molting into its gorget, and the wing noise is easy to hear as he buzzes around the yard. Hopefully I will get some more time in the Patch next week when I'm home for the Port Aransas Whooping Crane Festival.
