As the front roared through Harlingen, Texas, we observed a large kettle of
Swainson’s hawks riding it out just ahead of the system.
Guessing from 2000 to 3000 or so birds. Plus, below the hawks a great number of
barn swallows were soaring. It was quite the sight!
