The Horned Grebe, reported a month ago and again earlier this week, was still on Lake Pflugerville around 1pm today, Jan. 11. I took my Waterfowl I.D. class on a field trip, which included a visit to Lake Pflugerville, and we observed the Horned Grebe through spotting scopes. Without a scope, it would have been difficult to see from the north shore, but a trail circles the lake and one probably could have gotten a closer view of it from the west side about 200 feet from the north end of the lake.
