I saw all of the birds mentioned in yesterday's post on Lafitte's except Yellow throated Vireo, Palm, Blue-winged and Rough winged Swallows. No Audubon's. The cold front is passing away but there are still a bit going on, though. Found one male ruby throated hummer and the Calliope; latter getting insects in yaupon and shackleberry bushes under the live oak across from double drip site. Redheads Lesser Scaup Ring necked Duck Gadwall Blue-winged Teal Green-winged Teal N. Shoveler Mottled Duck White tailed Kite Lesser Yellowlegs Black-necked Stilt N. Mockingbird N. Cardinal Brown Thrasher Blue headed Vireo White-eyed Vireo Blue gray Gnatcatcher Ruby crowned Kinglet Yellow-rumped Warbler (myrtle) Black and White Warbler Yellow-throated Warbler Tennessee Warbler Wilson's Warbler Northern Parula Nashville Warbler Black-throated Green Warbler Orange-crowned Warbler Hermit Thrush American Robin Brown-headed Cowbird Red-winged Blackbird Great-tailed Grackle Purple Martins Tree Swallows Blue Jay Chipping Sparrow White-crowned Sparrow Quintana had one hooded and one female American Redstart. Beach had Sandwich Terns. So did San Luis Pass. Not yet Franklin's Gulls or Least Terns. Couldn't find any plovers but killdeers. Saturday is supposed to have another front. Yah!
