Colin kindly provide this somewhat obscure link. For those that do not require luxury and can deal with few amenities, this is a very good option. Having been here several times on visits either alone or with others, the 1100+ acres, the palm forest etc. will promise some great birding, and some southern species at the northern edge of the range...including in the past finds like Gray Hawk and for a bit even Altamira Oriole...I have not been there in 10 years or so, but always found it a very interesting place to bird in Kenedy Co., more so in wet seasons...It is migrant city in the spring. You must call for arrangements before you arrive. And as I recall, no RVs or primitive camping. Some areas may be still off limits (the area where the Hermit's cabins are) For sure it of great interest historically, for solitude and birding) http://www.lebhshomea.org/overview.htm -- Brush Freeman Independent and affiliated Field Biologist 361-655-7641 http://texasnaturenotes.blogspot.com/ Finca Alacranes., Utley,Texas The greatest musician of all time is mother nature.
