The first class in our four-part series: Intro to Birding will be held this
Thursday, October 15 from 3 PM to 4 PM. The series is geared towards the
beginner birder, so if you know someone who is just starting out or might be
interested in birdwatching, please help spread the word. Classes will be held
in the auditorium at Kleb Woods and are largely informational, although we may
practice outside now and then. This series is not particularly designed for
children, but all ages with a keen interest in birdwatching are welcome.
The first class, Intro to Birding: Birding Paraphernalia & Ethics, will cover
how to select and use binoculars, scopes, and field guides, proper clothing,
and suggestions on how to enjoy birdwatching responsibly.
Below is the class schedule. You do not need to attend every class to benefit
from each one.
October 15 - Birding Paraphernalia
October 22 - Diversity of Birds
October 29 - Using Field Marks to Identify Birds
November 5- Where to Go Birding
Classes are held from 3 PM to 4 PM at Kleb Woods Nature Center (20303 Draper
Rd. Tomball, TX 77377).
Participants are encouraged to use their newly acquired knowledge on our weekly
Wednesday bird walks (8:30-11:30 AM) and on our first Saturday of the month
bird walks (8-10 AM).
