It was closed close to Corpus and you couldn’t get across the Nueces River and
we were taken on a wild journey through small towns and horrible traffic all
over—all southbound traffic was detoured and it took us 6.5 hr to get from San
Antonio to Harlingen! The freeway was closed ~8 hrs and reopened at 2 pm, but
we were out on the detours at that time! There was no warning beforehand.
