Reports from this region from people who are not familiar with what is expected... tend to be a bit of a stretch. Make sure trip lists that included Greater Pewee didn't also include Tufted Titmouse and/or Juniper Titmouse - those would be big red flags. Size relative to Vermilion Flycatcher has not ruled out Western Wood-Pewee; let the bird and field notes do the talking. The photos (and other birders, so far) haven't given us the full story, and you were quite likely to bump into other Western Wood-Pewees during your time there; those need to be ruled out. The photos look classic Western to me. My two cents.
