[texbirds] How to request ebird hotspot modifications (please ignore if you don't use ebird)

Texbirders who are ebirders:

If you notice a public shared hotspot in the wrong spot or with the wrong name--
please email me offline.

Note: I cannot fix private locations --you must do that yourself--see me
texbirds post  from yesterday. I can however combine/move/rename shared
locations (also know as "Hotspots")

p.s. Have reduced the backlog of previously requested hotspots by 80%--hope to
be finally caught up in about a week.

Not every request gets approved:
1) if it's on private land with limited public access (not visible from a
public road) need to get approval of landowner for it to be a hotspot. Please
don't request your neighborhood or backyard a hotspot. I use google Earth to
try to see if the location is public or private
2) if the hotspot requested is  a whole town--one can already enter data to a
town in ebird without needing a hotspot--exceptions heavily birded very small
towns like High Island are hotspots.
3) if it's a random road within a county--I try to use criteria like--A) is the
road reasonably compact--not passing into several counties or of great length
with many crossroads b) is the road birdy?  -- I do a web search to see if
others have reported birding this road. I also look at the road on google earth
to see if it appears any different than other nearby roads (does it have a sod
farm, playa, creek crossing, marsh, etc.)   c) is the road near a heavily
birded area that will likely be visited by other birders even if it's not that
special
4) Is it a duplicate to an existing hotspot? If so i combine it with existing
hotspots
5) Is it a large vaguely defined area which might mean something different to
each birder e.g. "Southeast Harris County" is not a good hotspot

The goal is to have hotspots that get used regularly by more than one birder
and are located correctly

Texbirders,
On the same topic, is there a process by which we can get some eBird
Hotspots cleaned up? My biggest personal offenders are the Hotspots in Big
Bend National Park, the Davis Mountains, and Santa Ana NWR. Did anyone try for
the possible Antillean Nighthawk in Houston over the
holiday? Graham Floyd,
