My wife and I arrived on Thursday afternoon with much anticipation right after the front had moved through High Island. At about 6:15 PM we walked into Smith Oaks and were immediately greeted by 4 Blue-winged Warblers. Unfortunately, this was the warbler highlight for the weekend. We only tallied 8 more warbler species and we really had to work hard for those. But the weather was wonderful and I was finally able to photograph a Sedge Wren for the first time (#571 photo lifer). In addition, I finally got a decent photo of a Upland Sandpiper and all together added 25 photo birds to my ABA area photo Big Year, which now stands at 334.
