[texbirds] Hidalgo Co: Donna Landfill -11 Aug 2012

40 species at the Donna landfill this morning, including:
Least Grebe - the continuing singleton on the west pond
Reddish Egret - dark-morph juvenile on the east pond
White-tailed Hawk - juvenile &
Cantopus sp - on the far side of the eastern levee (presumably an
Olive-sided, but back-lit & too distant to be certain).
Still no gulls other than Laughing.
There were also 20 Upland Sandpipers on the Goolie turf fields (on the east
side of Goolie Road N in Donna - just across from the Bad Girls' Club!).
Yesterday I came across 118 Fulvous Whistling-Ducks & c 190 Stilt
Sandpipers at Llano Grande Lake (south of Weslaco on Hwy 1015).
