Had a really nice morning at Hagerman NWR, especially since my Dad finally
got his first Purple Finch at the grand age of 85. It had been a major jinx
bird but he finally got a beautiful male and female. Also had more Fox
Sparrows than I've ever seen in one place and lots of Harris' Sparrows,
couple hundred Snow and Ross' Geese, probably around a 1000 Redheads and
many other fun birds. Finch photos and full list will be on eBird shortly.
Finally, a big "Thank you" to Jack Chiles for his weekly posts that gave us
the information and motivation to make the trip. I would recommend a visit
to Hagerman to anyone who happens to be in the area!
