The great white heron was flying east toward the end of McFaddin Refuge
around 11 am today.
Historically, one was along the texas city floodwall near the dike at the
same time that the flamingo was sitting out in the bay along the sandbar
and seen by many on the same trip.
I looked away for a minute and it had vanished. Not sure if it lit or kept
going. Car does not like soft sand so I did not go up to the refuge fence.
It looked like it had a plume when flying away.

Late Sunday afternoon while Wes Homoya and I were birding along the coast
just south of High Island Wes spotted a Great White Heron. Currently
