Texbirders,
I birded around Granger Lake (Williamson Co.) this morning (3/15/16). The lake
as seen from the dam was almost totally devoid of birds The main highlight was
finding the continuing Hammond's Flycatcher at Dickerson's Bottoms in San
Gabriel WMA (some video can be seen at
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCcQktFoER8FMJJLG3hr56NA/videos). Other
highlights included:
Pileated Woodpecker 2 (Continuing birds at Dickerson's Bottoms, San Gabriel
WMA)
Tree Swallow 6 (Appeared to be involved in some type of courtship behavior
around potential nest cavity at Taylor Park.)
Chestnut-collared Longspur 2 (Flying over CR 352 "mega-field," making
distinctive "kiddle" calls).
