Texbirders,
Spent a very pleasant morning birding at Circle C Ranch Metro Park in south
Austin, lots of fun birds including 10 species of warblers (Yellow,
Nashville, Chestnut-sided, Northern Waterthrush, Wilson's, Black-throated
Green, Magnolia, American Redstart, Common Yellowthroat, and Tennessee) and
4 species of vireos (Red-eyed, White-eyed, Bell's, and Philadelphia). Park
also has a healthy population of Painted Buntings, so if anyone has
out-of-town guests that need these lovely birds, this would be a great
place to go. Gray Catbirds, Crested Caracara, and Broad-winged Hawk were
other new park birds for me. I also had a mystery singer that I recorded on
my phone, so if anyone is interested in listening to try to ID, let me know
and I can send it to you. Full list can be found here.
