Beautiful morning in the Texas Hill Country. I had most of the Golden-cheeks
between 10:30 & 11:30. One was observed this morning by another observer
pulling cedar bark off of a tree. One thing about Golden-cheeks---when they get
to Texas they don't mess around! Something I have noticed over the years about
Black-capped Vireo in this park. When they start visiting the water feature at
a bird blind they set up a pattern. They like to come in the heat of the day
and the one I observed at Lora's Blind was there 1:10-1:15, so if you've been
wanting to get a good, close photo of one Lora's Bird Blind at South Llano
should be pretty reliable.
