Hi Texbirders,
Our bird walk this morning was shorter than usual but still yielded great
birds. Highlights were a NORTHERN BEARDLESS TYRANNULET calling and showing
off in a tree right above where a COMMON PAURAQUE was roosting.
Also being seen today are TROPICAL PARULA, PROTHONOTARY WARBLER and FULVOUS
WHISTLING DUCK. Check the front area carefully!
Bird walks are held daily at 8:30 am. Meet volunteer guides at the Visitor
Center.

Lakes. Large hawk with dark hooded look that conjured up a Swainson's Hawk
but wings seemed too broad, and bird to large for Swainson's. Wings had
dark and light areas but can't recall accurately what color was where..
Body not bright white but light colored. Tail was folded and seemed very
long. Photos taken by trip participant so hopefully will get a chance to
take another look.
