Hi Texbirders,
Both birders and birds seemed delighted this morning by the return of
warmer temperatures. Birds were singing! One walk highlight was standing in
the middle of two song-dualing Long-billed Thrashers, perched up and
visible to either side of us. Cardinals and Altamira Orioles were singing,
as was an Olive Sparrow. 'Twas lovely. An interesting walk highlight was
watching a Verdin at length as it actively fed on dry grasses in the middle
of Willow Lakes. Not where you expect to see a Verdin! Thirteen circling
Anhingas ended our walk on an awesome note. Guided walks leave the Visitor
Center at 8:30 am every day but Sunday. See you here!
