An informal tour of the refuge this morning for volunteers produced a few surprises... Best of all was a pair of SWALLOW-TAILED KITE, 5 CEDAR WAXWING, and NORTHERN WATERTHRUSH that walked down the center of the road, under the van, and out the back providing the folks in the back seat a great photo op. A migrating Bullock's Oriole was also very exciting as were 2 Scissor-tailed flycatcher. We also had a Peregrine Falcon. Lots of swallows - several species and a small gaggle of snow goose. Spring Migration has begun. Observer: dkelly163 2014-03-12 09:23 Laguna Atascosa NWR (LTC 024) Protocol: Traveling 20 Miles 240 Minutes Observers: 15 All birds reported?
