Good afternoon, Texbirders,
It was a beautiful morning in Santa Ana NWR lots of birdsong and
crisp blue skies. A pair of Northern Beardless Tyrannulets working on their
nest was a real treat, as well as finding an active Kiskadee nest. While
standing close to Willow Lake #3, we watched several Broad-winged Hawks and a
Swainsons Hawk lift off to begin their migration right over our heads. A wide
variety of shorebirds were evident on Willow as well, foraging as fast as
possible for their continued migration north. And, finding the beautiful
Tropical Parula was the icing on the cake!
Come join the fun walks continue through March, 8:30am. Hawk
Watch is conducted on the levee daily through April 15.
