I know in our Prairie Restoration, plowing was not allowed--they didn't want to disturb the buried seedbed. We are currently waiting for nesting to be over before proceeding on our Prairie Restoration. We continue to have Dickcissels around and in the Spring, their noise was deadening in the field when you were trying to hear other birds. We also have a young female that continues to show up daily in the backyard. It is always funny to have people looking for them and it shows up at the Warbler Pond, in the middle of lots of vegetation. We also have a lot of nesting Bobwhite and needless to say, we can't shred when they are out there! Finding time to squeeze things in is always a balancing act!
