I live in the SW corner of Houston, where a few coastal counties begin to
intersect. I started getting cowbirds on my feeders in late Jan, just moved to
this house so was surprised to see them, and not sure if it is normal. I have
quite a few feeders set up, so it attracts a good number of birds. The cowbirds
have increased over the past two weeks, but had been hanging around a few at a
time since Jan. I have had tons of red wing blackbirds eating me out of house
and home for months as well. They have been feeding together for a few weeks in
the back yard.

,
Not a one at the feeders all winter and suddenly over the past two days,
they descend by the dozens...Just in time for the first breeding warbler
arrivals nearby
