The first 2 weeks are in the book. Here are the numbers(these are migrant
Raptors, of course):
Mississippi Kites = 6350Swallow-tailed Kites = 26Broad-winged Hawks =
8Ospreys = 3Sharp-shinned Hawks = 3Peregrine Falcons = 3Swainson's Hawks =
2Merlins = 2White-tailed Kites = 1American Kestrels = 1
Total = 6399
Highlights include: the awesome number of Mississippi Kites(better than 5100
counted on 08/13). 11 Swallow-tailed Kites on 08/13, and 8 more on 08/14.
Non-Raptor cool stuff includes 4741 migrating Anhingas(to date) , and a Bell's
Vireo on 08/13.
A huge thanks to Hawkwatch International for opening our season 2 weeks earlier
than normal(and to Libby for requesting it).
