As promised, I am finally getting the full reports out for the six BBS
routes I ran this year.
On 28 May 2016 I completed the Circle BBS. This route is entirely in Lamb
County and starts from a point on the northwest outskirts of Circle, runs
west past Springlake, runs north to just past Earth, and then runs west
almost to the Lamb/Bailey County line. The route was generally good - with
a few squishy spots from recent rains and a few sandy spots from
encroaching dunelands - and I didn't have to reroute any portion of the
route.
In general, there seems to be some good, solid drought recovery going on
with strong rebounds in numbers of Northern Bobwhite, Ring-necked Pheasant,
Wetern Kingbird, Horned Lark, Cassin's Sparrow, Lark Sparrow, Grasshopper
Sparrow, Dickcissel, and Western Meadowlark numbers.
