default, I would assume it is Chihuahuan. It was in flight and flying away from me and appeared to have slightly shorter wings than a Common...Corvids except the occasional Blue Jay, are very rare down here at the tip if they appear at all...A CHRA was up near Colomo Ck. several years ago however.... In 20+ years of birding POC pretty hard, I have never seen a crow close ( within ~8 -9 mi.s) to town, tho I see from Ebird Jon M. reported 2 here in 2009...Also there is a strange report, also in 2009, from over on the north end of Matagorda Is. by someone I do not know.....I am very doubious of that one, unless perhaps it was perhaps a Fish Crow...A bird that would be a county new record.........Any crow is a bird I would love to see in my Port O'Connor "Sq. Mile." This this morning's raven would fit within a "circle" if I had one here. The flock of Redheads that were off the front here for weeks feeding on eel grass may have left, have not seen them in 3 days...Maybe they are just somewhere else nearby -- Brush Freeman Edit your Freelists account settings for TEXBIRDS at //www.freelists.org/list/texbirds Reposting of traffic from TEXBIRDS is prohibited without seeking permission from the List Owner
