Can't help on the Texas birds except we had a rare encounter with one on
March 23 on the Kenedy Ranch not far north of Norias during a group visit
one year. My personal earliest, Glenn calls them the Income Tax sparrow as
April 15 is when he begins seeing them in Kleberg Co.

"...and a small non-migratory population..." Can someone steer me to
information regarding the non-migratory population.
