Hi, all!
With a report of a Lesser Black-backed Gull in the Boca Chica Tract, I
birded that whole stretch of SR 4 this morning (along with a couple of side
roads); dipped on the gull but had a MOB of Reddish Egrets! The tide was too
high to drive on the beach, so just getting the report that the lady
Black-throated Blue Warbler was still hanging around Sheepshead, I headed up
there (not really expecting anything), and by golly she showed up, along
with a Chestnut-sided Warbler! :-D Had the usual beach bums on the Flats -
Common Tern was nice. Other highlights were my first Botteri's Sparrow of
the year, both Wilson's and Snowy Plover at the same stop, the Aplomado
first thing, and a few White-rumped Sandpipers in with the tons of Dunlin.
Ended up with 74 species for the morning.
