Well one of the problems with Black Skimmer’s population growth is their  
behavior of killing chicks when nesting conditions are far from being good  
(several reasons).  This is very graphic video (including still images from  
different colonies that I never uploaded for public view before) so these 
with  weak stomach might better do not click on this link. But these who are 
naturally  curious might want to watch it and learn interesting details about 
BLSK behavior  that is not often shown in video, or stills.  As you will 
see one chick  (first one in video) survived severe attacks (they can take a 
lot of abuse) but  another one wasn’t that lucky … nor were those in still 
photos.
