This morning I had three calling Black Rails at Galveston Island State Park.
They all were y bunched fairly closely together, about 30-40 yards apart in
high grass next to the wetlands on the left about 1/4 mile from the start of
the Clapper Rail trail. Yesterday I heard two Black Rails at this site and a
third on the trail itself. You probably won't see them but their distinctive
ki-ki derr calls are easily heard.
