Hi, all!
This month's Birder Patrol trip (scheduled for next Saturday, the 23rd) will
be to the Hargill area first, then checking any remaining wetlands around
and finishing up at Sugarhouse Pond. This is the general time of year the
Collared Plover showed up at the Playa (for the 2nd year), so if there's a
pattern, who knows?? Wintering ducks have been lingering at the ponds on CR
20 (along with a Glossy Ibis reported a few weeks ago), so we might kick up
some good stuff.
For those in the Harlingen area, meet at the Stripes in Combs (US 77 and SR
107) at 6:00; for those in the "west", meet at the Flying J Travel Plaza in
Edinburg (Monte Cristo and Freeway 281), also at 6:00, and we'll ultimately
meet in Hargill around 6:30. The Edinburg group will be caravanning, not
carpooling, due to the location of our ending spot.
Cost is $5.00, and all proceeds go to the educational endeavors of the
Arroyo Colorado Audubon Society (ACAS).
