Hi all,

Not relevant to Travis Co. and vicinity... but regarding
Barn Owl movement in spring.

Here in Utopia, NE Uvalde Co., there is a clear and obvious
movement of migrant Barn Owl beginning in March, earliest
about the end of the first week of March, but lots of
movement by the end of March.

These birds are high up moving due north.  I had three
the evening of the 25th, and about 6 or 7 this week.
I go outside 5-10 minutes an hour every hour all day and
up until about midnight.  Virtually all are heard calling
multiple times.

Mitch Heindel
Utopia

but this small spike in detections may indicate a pulse
of N-bound migrants in mid-to late March.
