Limpkins continue to be very easy to see at the private lake at the N end
of Jungman Rd immediately to the south of the Brazos Bend SP boundary.
When I arrived today pre-dawn there were already calling almost constantly
and two birds were visible as silhouettes on dead snags. Birds were
calling non-stop and for sure at least four birds present.
At times they came close in to the west end of the lake not far from the
locked gate. They would also fly into the southern edge of the park.
Activity died down somewhat around 8am but I saw two birds later in the
morning inside the park along the (now dry) Live Oak Trail although they
were quite flighty.
