[texbirds] April VNC Trip Announcement

Hi, all!
April's Valley Nature Center field trip will be to South Padre Island, with
a stop at Port Isabel Reservoir en route. Targets include shorebirds
(many are in gorgeous breeding plumage now, including Piping Plover), special
gulls and terns (like Franklin's Gull and Least Tern; Common might be a
possibility), and of course any colorful (and not so colorful) migrant
songbirds that happen to be passing through! Meet at the Jack in the Box on
US 77
and Ed Carey Drive in Harlingen at 8:00 on the 27th. Cost is $5.00 per
person; all proceeds go to sponsoring a school field trip to the VNC.
