Mary/Texbirders: Per my ebird notes, I along with Greg Lavaty had an American Bittern making the pumping territorial call in marsh near 40 Acre Lake on Feb 26, 2005 at Brazos Bend State Park (the Streak-backed Oriole was also showing well that day near there). In good years several can be heard at the same time at Shoveler Pond at Anahuac. One bird calls and they all start calling.
