TexBirders,
After I left Kingsville earlier this am and heading to Lake Findley near Alice
(Jim Wells Co) I stopped numerous times along the way to scan the many kettles
(hundreds of birds total) of Turkey Vultures plus a scattering of Swainsons,
Broad-winged, Coopers & Sharp-shinned Hawks. Unfortunately Lake Findley is
closed because of flooding but I’m here currently watching at the gate and more
mixed kettles are passing over including about 50 Greater White-fronted Geese.
Pretty amazing morning for me, just wish the park was open.
Good birding,
Tom Langschied
Currently north of Alice
