Decided to not believe the weatherman again, and so went out to the refuge this morning. Checked on the nesting GH Owl, only spotted one chick. Lady at the refuge said there were reports that only one remained. She also reported that the Aplamdo had been spotted again yesterday in the same genral vicinity as earlier reports. We didn't find it though. On the refuge we spotted Northern Shovelers Pintails Redheads White Ibis White-faced Ibis Savannah sparrows (and one or maybe two that flitted to quick for us to id them) YR Warblers wrens mockingbird Loggerhead Shrike Red-tailed Hawk White-tailed Hawk Am Kestrel Herons of all persuasions (many more observed today than a couple weeks back) sml/med black birds of various backgrounds gators. and a well fed raccoon. All in all a fine morning.
