5-2-14 Redstart, MacGillivrays @ Warbler Woods Bird Sanctuary
I spent 10 hours birding and now know the warblers by first names! I kept
hoping they would bring more friends, but we only managed 6 warbler sp. The
company was wonderful, thanks to all our visitors. I'm still missing one
checklist, but wanted to get this off. Tomorrow's fieldtrip is small, so room
for visitors, with permission first.
Highlight was when I saw the usual movement in the understory plants of my
favorite bird and then confirmed with the gray hood and eye arcs of a
beautiful male MacGillivray's Warbler! As I grabbed my camera, I was telling
Danelle to look, but scared the bird away before a picture. I stayed there for
four more hours wo luck.
We ended up with 55 species
