I have had a couple of instances where I could not find a fault and the
transistor lasted from 30 seconds to 3 days. What I did was use two in
parallel, a very old Philips trick in the days when the transistor was just not
good enough. The couple I have done I gave a warranty on the transistors for
the life of the set, my first is 2 years out. Be interested in others views on
the doubling of the transistors.
