Ron, the following is something i got off this sight before,only try it as a
last resort.
(first clean the lens and try it)
CAREFULLY remove the lens, under it is a mirror that gets dirty same as the
lens does.(unit doesnt see the disc)
clean the mirror and put the lens back on. wait 1/2 hour for all to dry before
trying.
I did this on an onkyo as a last resort and it now works great.

Select disc ok doesn't spin disc sled motor works can't see if laser is
focusing or not.Doesn't read disc.
Any common fixes for this problem,is unit known for bad ribbon cable?No
