The "Jungle IC", is affectingly name for the TV processor IC. It is called a
"Jungle", because it has so many things at its control. Just like a Jungle
has all kinds of critters, plants, and whatever else. The comparison was
made by some engineer for a certain Manufacturer, and shared with a training
class many, many years ago. The name stuck, and the rest is history. It
makes since though, and it is easier to remember, and more fun than just
saying TV processor IC.
