Gary,
I tried the SK generic on one of these and it blew up..front face came off the
IC.
Maybe one from www.prelcoparts.com or Tritonics are better.

Subject: [TechAssist] Zenith TV model Z35X21D -module 9-1813. Regulator question

Sorry if this is a repeat post, but I was warned my mail wasn't sent
although it was in my sent box.

I have purchased a used Zenith TV cheap, model Z35X21D with main module
9-1813. The set is dead and I found tip to replace the regulator IC and
a few other components. This uses a STR53041. Can I get away with using
a generic, or is it imperative to install an OEM? Does the generic
usually have any pin configuration issues?
