Gary, I tried the SK generic on one of these and it blew up..front face came off the IC. Maybe one from www.prelcoparts.com or Tritonics are better. Regulator question Sorry if this is a repeat post, but I was warned my mail wasn't sent although it was in my sent box. I have purchased a used Zenith TV cheap, model Z35X21D with main module 9-1813. The set is dead and I found tip to replace the regulator IC and a few other components. This uses a STR53041. Can I get away with using a generic, or is it imperative to install an OEM? Does the generic usually have any pin configuration issues? -- Gary McCartney McCartney Electronics 7134 Fife Rd, RR 7 Guelph Ontario Canada N1H 6J4 Fax: (519)821-1530 email: gary (at) number63.ca ***************************************************************************** The Tech Address Book: http://www.tech-assist.org/secure/tip/contact.html Add a Repair Tip Here, or Change/Remove your Email Address: http://www.tech-assist.org/secure/tip/main.html Lost Password: http://www.tech-assist.org and select "Lost your Login Info?".
