Could be the tube!
This is what usually fails.
Icx3431 Str53041 , C3432 100/25, Q3431 121-1264 .
Check the resistors in that same circuit also...
Put a 1 or 1.5 amp fuse in it for testing...if the CRT shorts , it will blow
the fuse before it smokes your STR53041
Tap on the neck of the tube to see if she'll act up.
