A Little trick I learned is momentarily short each crt Cathode R,G,B one at a time to ground. You should see a bright retrace of that color. If not the tube is probably toast. Be careful when doing this on other sets but zenith works fine. Set has sound but no pix. HV ok, heater ok too. Cranked up G-2, boom, pix comes in but looks pukey. Can't drive the G-2 into retrace lines, focus not so hot either. High end of G2 is about 700 volts. These tubes normally didn't give much trouble, being made by Toshiba. Although it may have had a lot of use. Anybody run into this before or should I get a new FBT first ? > TIA > Keith Trumbla > BEM Electronics Inc. > 839 Ellice AVE > Winnipeg, Manitoba, > Canada R3G 0C3 > Ph.(204)775-2875 Fax.(204)774-9192 > www.bemelectronics.com > **************************************************************************** * > The Tech Address Book: > http://www.tech-assist.org/secure/tip/contact.html > Add a Repair Tip Here, or Change/Remove your Email Address: > http://www.tech-assist.org/secure/tip/main.html > Lost Password: > http://www.tech-assist.org and select "Lost your Login Info?". > Email Archives: > //www.freelists.org/archives/techassist/ > > ***************************************************************************** The Tech Address Book: http://www.tech-assist.org/secure/tip/contact.html Add a Repair Tip Here, or Change/Remove your Email Address: http://www.tech-assist.org/secure/tip/main.html Lost Password: http://www.tech-assist.org and select "Lost your Login Info?".
