Hello, I think I still need help on this. I have light box here right now using the ceiling, but it looks like the convergence is stilled bowed. I replaced the two STK392-110, R4162, 4163, 4161 and R1460. R4160 and R4161 gets extremely hot to touch. The convergence looks better, though at the top left corner, all colors are bowing downwards. On pins 6-14-15 of STK's I have no, or less than 1vdc on each. Is this normal? Thanks to all that have helped so far Jeff FAX 717-564-4952 Jeff Dougherty Intrepid Video & Electronics 501 Luther Rd Harrisburg, PA 17111 717-909-8844 VCR tips, electronics info & general interest. www.intrepid-video.com www.tech-repair.net www.thetoolcaddy.com ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jeff Dougherty" <jeff@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: "Techsonline" <techassist@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Wednesday, March 06, 2002 8:18 PM Subject: [TechAssist] Zenith RZ46Z83D7, no conv adjust and no menu adjustments work > > OK, I posted this on Monday and now have the light box here. > The convergence is bowed terribly, and the indicators do not move when you > try to adjust in convergence menu. > R3243(110k) and R3244(82k) are OK. > R1460 is burnt R4161 and R4163 appear open, R4162 is OK. > How many of you have gotten by with just replacing these resistors, or > should I replace the chips, also? > And, would generic be OK for these chips? > Also, TX3401 has a squeal coming from it, more noticeable when set is off. > Should I replace this, or use the hot melt glue to stabilize the windings? > If I should replace, I need the part number. > Thank you. > Jeff > > FAX 717-564-4952 > Jeff Dougherty > Intrepid Video & Electronics > 501 Luther Rd > Harrisburg, PA 17111 > 717-909-8844 > VCR tips, electronics info & general interest. > www.intrepid-video.com www.tech-repair.net www.thetoolcaddy.com > > > > ------------------------------------------ > Make your TechAssist database better! > Submit Repair Tips here: http://www.tech-assist.org/secure/tip/ > ------------------------------------------ > To UNSUBSCRIBE your email address, click here: > mailto:techassist-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe > Or send a BLANK email with unsubscribe in the > SUBJECT field to the address above. > ------------------------------------------ Make your TechAssist database better!
