Thanks for all the replys.
I have no idea how this set could have all these problems but here's the
final tally.
No osc= bad 8meghz crystal
That brought up the osc/ still dead
No data to/from the eeprom / bad eeprom / still dead but had a burst of data
on plug in.
discovered that the customer never uses the switches on the tv/ only remote.
power switch and vol and menu were bad. That brought the set back to life.
What a pain.
