Hello Jeff, I've seen the symptom you describe, and the effect on it by screen control, in many zenith chassis. In this case it was caused by a 1uf 50v cap in the ABL line feeding the video chip. might be worth checking on this set. Put this on the bench Monday at the end of the day. Picture was flickering as soon as we turned it on. After the warm up period it stopped we grabbed a can of freeze spray & started chilling all the parts. Problem wouldn't return. I noticed the video looked a teeny bit bright so I started tweaking the G2 & I noticed when we increased the G2 control the flickering problem would return....backed it down problem gone! Odd thing though...when the G2 gets cranked up we don't see the usual ultra bright screen with retrace lines...just this flickering video. Is this normal on these newer Toshiba sets? Tomorrow we'll see if it the problem is back when we first fire it up.
