Found Q801(STR52041) bad, Q802(2SA1020) shorted and some diodes bad.
Replaced and now set fires up with no video or audio, HV is OK. Increase G2 to
find retrace lines, but not
very stable.
B+ on REG seems to start at 160vdc and after it warms up a minute, increases up
to 190vdc within a few
seconds.
I disconnected the yoke, thinking maybe it was shorted, same problem..then
removed the CRT board, got a
squeal from the chassis, but the B+ on the REG was the same reaction.
Pin 1 of REG shows -40v, 3= -33.5vdc...and no, leads are not reversed.
B+ to HOT measures a steady 135vdc.
I have no schematic and was on Toshiba's site, but I guess they have nothing
there for these older sets,
though a 1996 unit.
I've checked all diodes, ESR'd all caps and checked all resistors in the power
supply and everything
checks OK.
Thank you.
