Hi, this is my first email on techassist, I like the strict rules on it. I have a Toshiba model 32A42A with HOT overheating real fast at start-up and goes into shutdown in about 15-20 sec. Before it shutdown the picture has time to come on and both side of the picture is narrow like a low voltage problem and gets narrower real fast as Q404 (HOT), D444 and D461 heats up and then shutdown. Checked the b+ and is at 135volts, it the schematic it says 125v but there shouldn't be a problem like that even if it is running at 135v. The waveform at the collector of the HOT is 1300vpp and is the way it should be also checked the driver input and output waveforms and they are showing to be normal. Disconnected the HV anode from CRT and the HOT still overheats also tried with the CRT board disconnected and still the same problem. ringed the FBT and ringed ok. Used the HA2500 and did the load test and tested ok but that is only done it low voltage condition. Tried a new HOT Transistor and replaced the two large diodes next to it, D444 and D461. Could it be the FBT? Any help appreciated.
