Sounds like a couple of tvs I repaired about a year ago. Had two 100 ohm resistors in parallel feeding the 8.2 volt zener. There was a shorted 33 volt zener (overvoltage protector) between the resistors and a rectifier from the SMPS transformer. T/A said that the 8.2 volts was the power for the video process IC and that it might be damaged too, but it turned out that all that were needed were the two resistors and the 33 volt zener. Funi told me to get parts & schematic from Sears and they don't list them. Does anybody know where I can get a schematic for this 1 year old TV? > > > Thank You! > Richard La Placa > Continental TV > Chestertown MD, > 410-778-1113 > http://www.continentaltv.homestead.com > > > --------------------------------- > Do you Yahoo!? > New DSL Internet Access from SBC & Yahoo! > > ------------------------------------------ > To REMOVE your email address, click here: > http://www.tech-assist.org/unsubb.html > To CHANGE your email address, click here: > http://www.techassist.net/forms/change.html > ------------------------------------------ > ***NEW*** Tips Added Instantly!!!*** > Submit Repair Tips here: > http://www.tech-assist.org/secure/tip/ > ------------------------------------------ To REMOVE your email address, click here: http://www.tech-assist.org/unsubb.html To CHANGE your email address, click here: http://www.techassist.net/forms/change.html ------------------------------------------ ***NEW*** Tips Added Instantly!!!*** Submit Repair Tips here: http://www.tech-assist.org/secure/tip/
